GARGLING - GOOD EVIDENCE - The Solution

Gargling for Good Health

The Virus  – Don’t give it a chance.

Antibacterial and antiviral preparations have long been a requirement in dental practice. Dentists grasp the effects of oral hygiene on the whole body, so we should not be surprised to see that dentists are the ones leading the charge in trials on gargles etc. against the SARS CoV-19 virus.

Gargling…mouth rinses, lozenges, nasal lavage/spray/gel, face steaming, nebulizing

With effective substances – naturals and commercial products.

Halting viral infection at its first stop, the, mouth, throat and nasopharynx, should be our first thought, when dealing with a -could be- respiratory viral disease. In the case of Covid-19,   masks, and sanitizing the environment have been mandated, but the actual incubation location of the virus is ignored.  Long before a coronavirus can cause lower respiratory disease, it will develop in the upper chambers and air passageways, if given the chance.   Instead of sitting idle, we must use those first —–5 days of exposure and possible incubation   ——-and 7 days of possible first symptoms, to dissuade the replication, transmission and progression of the pathogen.  Moreover, before these events, daily attention to oral hygiene, could act in prevention.

This site is a launching pad for historic and current, anecdotal, scientific and empirical, information regarding the efficacy of these practices.   It is a concept seriously underexamined, though many individuals and cultures take this as first action in the threat of a flu, cold or -pandemic.

Official COVID-19 recommendations, in most countries, but not all, ignore this topic.

By contrast, during the Spanish Flu, gargling was given top priority. (As were many other proactive treatments

We are welcoming additional relevant information -practices, experiences, and studies, historic and current, worldwide -to create a useful and robust site on Gargling etc.
